Job Summary
South Central Kitchen & Provisions is seeking a friendly and dependable Restaurant Cashier to join our team. The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, handling cash and electronic payments, and supporting daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide a welcoming dining experience.
- Process cash, debit, credit card, and mobile payment transactions accurately.
- Take customer orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Answer customer questions regarding menu items and promotions.
- Maintain an organized and clean cashier station.
- Balance cash drawer and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
- Assist with food packaging and order preparation when needed.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and company policies.
- Support team members with general restaurant duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cashier, restaurant, or customer service experience is an asset.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light items when necessary.
