Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Catering Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting catering food to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to safety regulations. As a Catering Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for quality service.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport products to designated locations.
- Load, unload and set up catering trays and hot meals, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Pick up chafing dishes, soup and coffee urns, as well as other equipment from delivery addresses
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Go grocery shopping for dairy, produce and other items needed for the restaurant
- Plan out timing and routes for yourself and other drivers (if needed)
- Communicate effectively with managers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in the maintenance of the vehicle, including basic automotive repairs as needed.
- Keeping busy assisting other staff on down time between orders
- Load and unload groceries from van and put away in coolers observing date rotations.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Calgary roads is beneficial.
- Ability to handle freight safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lift 25kg.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Weekend availability is required
