JUNIOR mechanical designer (HVAC/Plumbing/Drainage/Controls/Energy)

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire protections systems and components, utilizing advanced CAD software and system design principles. Responsibilities
- Design of mechanical systems which will include HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire protection systems commercial, retail, residential and industrial building service applications.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD, and other drafting tools.
- The eligible candidate will be working in a professional office setting under a Senior Engineer and as part of engineering design team.
- Time spent will be accounted for and can be used towards the application for a P. Eng. designation with the PEO.
- Create and analyze system layouts, components, and assemblies for manufacturing processes.
- Utilize programming skills with Excel and other calculations software to design and optimize mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Conduct system design evaluations, including thermal analysis and building assessments.
- Wide range of projects will be available to work on in conjunction with other engineering disciplines from other firms, designers, architects and project managers.
- Construction field review and observations, commissioning support, problem solving skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components.
- Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, drawings, and specifications for a complete mechanical drawing package.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in existing systems and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Review and submission of Code and Regulatory documentation; review of operations and maintenance documentation.
- Stay current with industry trends in CAD technology, manufacturing techniques, and mechanical innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar drafting tools is a plus. AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Confident and effective communicator in all formats (email, phone and in perosn)
- Competency in report preparation, technical studies and engineering briefs.
- Strong and proven time management / organizational / interpersonal/ personal time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment but also independently.
- Competency in computer skills including: MS Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, publisher) AutoCAD and/or REVIT, HAP, and proprietary equipment selection software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical principles including system design, schematics, and manufacturing processes.
