Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, versatile, and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage our month end and year end financial operations, inventory tracking, and general office workflow. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience handling complex monthly reconciliations, month end and year end auditing skills and analyzing monthly reporting.
We deal with global suppliers and physical goods, so this role requires specific experience with international banking, exchange rate accounting and inventory control. As a crucial part of our small team, you must be a natural multi-tasker who thrives on variety, takes initiative, and can operate with minimal supervision to maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Financial & Global Banking:
- Government Remittances: Prepare and file timely HST returns and WSIB payments, payroll taxes etc.
- Audits – monthly audits to ensure all accounts are accurate.
Year end – Year end audits on main operating companies and several smaller companies. Reviewing and sending all year end documentation to accountants. Communicating with accountants to answer any questions and reviewing and posting of year end entries, balancing trial balance to accountants.
- Ensuring all intercompany accounts are accurate and balanced paying particular attention to Canadian to USD accounts.
- Able to work with new software (ex. Shopify, PayPal, banking site etc..) find relevant reports and analyze for management.
Inventory Control:
Monitor, track, and maintain accurate inventory levels within our accounting/inventory software.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts against system records and investigate any discrepancies.
- Track incoming international shipments, duties, and brokerage fees to ensure accurate cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) reporting.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of solid, hands-on bookkeeping experience.
- International Banking: Demonstrated experience processing international wire transfers and handling multi-currency transactions.
- Inventory Knowledge: Prior experience managing inventory control, physical counts, and tracking supplier shipments.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop/Shopify and Microsoft Excel.
- Multitasking Ability: A proven track record of managing competing priorities and a wide variety of tasks without losing attention to detail.
- Location: Ability to reliably commute to our Brampton office .
Pay: $13,000.00-$15,000.00 per year
