Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces and components, ensuring high-quality standards and safety compliance. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand and power tools are essential. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or masking as needed
- Apply paint, coatings, or finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools with precision
- Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts when necessary for material handling or access to elevated areas
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist in surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Follow safety protocols related to the use of chemicals, equipment, and working at heights
- Perform inspections to ensure paint quality and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean work area and properly store tools and materials
- Assist in assembly or machining tasks as required within the manufacturing process
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by adhering to efficient work practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience in painting within a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity of hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining processes
- Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely (training provided if needed)
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface preparation and coating thicknesses
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality control
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Prior experience with assembly or working around manufacturing machinery is advantageous
Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
