We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Stainless Steel Polisher to join our production team. This role focuses on finishing stainless steel elevator panels using belt sanders and other polishing equipment to achieve consistent, high-quality surface finishes.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in producing clean, uniform finishes. Experience with metal finishing is an asset, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate reliability and a willingness to learn.
This position is suitable for someone seeking full-time employment or a semi-retired individual looking for flexible part-time work. A minimum commitment of two days per week is required, with full-time hours available based on experience and workload.
Duties
- Polish stainless steel elevator panels using belt sanders and finishing equipment.
- Maintain consistent grain direction and surface finish quality.
- Inspect finished panels to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Safely operate belt sanders, grinders, and other finishing tools.
- Handle and move materials using proper lifting techniques and shop equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production.
- Assist with packaging and preparing finished panels for shipment.
- Perform basic maintenance on polishing equipment and report any issues.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in stainless steel polishing, metal finishing, or fabrication is an asset but not required.
- Comfortable using belt sanders, grinders, and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent finishes.
- Ability to follow work instructions and quality standards.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling materials.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with forklifts or material handling equipment is an asset but not required.
