What you'll be doing
As Director, Product – Workflow Orchestration & Platform Engineering, you’ll be a key leader within the Personal and Business Banking team, reporting to the Vice President, Strategy, Modernization and Optimization. You’ll own the vision, roadmap, and delivery for Simplii’s workflow orchestration platform, enabling both internal operational workflows and external client-facing journeys to be composed, integrated, and delivered quickly, safely, and consistently. You’ll translate consumer needs, architecture standards, security/IAM requirements, and business priorities into a clear platform product roadmap and prioritized backlog for a cross-functional squad. Your role will be central to building and evolving reusable workflow and orchestration building blocks, ensuring cross-cutting platform controls, and driving architectural evolution, including AI agent workflow enablement. You’ll foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, partnering closely with stakeholders across architecture, security, infrastructure, and enterprise governance.
At Simplii we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How you'll succeed
Workflow Orchestration & Platform Enablement – Own and refine the product vision for Simplii’s workflow orchestration platform, developing reusable journey components and building blocks that accelerate squad delivery and support end-to-end process orchestration.
Shared Platform Roadmap Ownership – Manage the shared platform product roadmap, intake, prioritization, and transparency for shared capabilities, establishing consumer feedback loops and governance processes.
Cross-Cutting Controls & Compliance – Define and enforce identity/IAM patterns, data access standards, audit logging, performance testing standards, and platform compliance readiness, partnering with security, privacy, risk, and compliance teams.
Backlog Ownership & Delivery Leadership – Own and manage the product backlog, making transparent trade-off decisions, leading agile ceremonies, and proactively managing dependencies, risks, and sequencing across initiatives.
Stakeholder & Consumer Engagement – Act as the product decision-maker, gathering input from consuming squads and subject-matter experts, and communicating platform direction, progress, and outcomes to senior leaders and delivery teams.
Value Measurement & Continuous Improvement – Define and track platform performance metrics, inspect outcomes, incorporate learnings, and adjust priorities to continuously increase platform value and champion a culture of experimentation and improvement.
Who you are
You’re a decisive platform product leader. You bring strong technical judgment and are comfortable making trade-offs in complex, multi-consumer environments spanning internal operations and external client journeys.
You’re deeply platform-minded. You have a track record of building shared workflow orchestration capabilities that accelerate delivery across multiple teams and use cases.
You’re highly collaborative. You work effectively across architecture, security, infrastructure, consumer squads, and enterprise governance in a matrixed organization.
You thrive in ambiguity. You turn strategy into executable priorities at the platform layer, balancing short-term needs with long-term integrity and scalability.
You’re outcomes-oriented. You focus on enablement, developer experience, and measurable platform impact, consistently delivering results.
Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
