Summary
We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician, Trades (skilled and semi-skilled in all areas) to join our team at Hylan Group Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various systems within our commercial properties. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to quality and safety in all our projects.
Responsibilities
- Carpentry, drywall, tiles, flooring and painting
- Repairing and installing doors, windows, and frames
- Minor drywall repair and patching
- Assembling furniture and fixtures
- Repairing and replacing baseboards, trim, and molding
- Performing touch-up painting and minor wall repairs
- Caulking and sealing
- Customer Service:
- Interact respectfully and professionally with tenants, staff, or clients.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a courteous and helpful demeanor.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a skilled trade is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic knowledge of appliance repair.
- Experience with preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Ability to read blueprints or schematics.
Working Conditions:
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
- May be exposed to loud noises, dust, and other environmental factors.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for emergencies.
