Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Fire Extinguisher technician or assistant to join our team. This position will be required to service Fire Extinguishers and Kitchen Suppression Systems to NFPA standards. We are looking for candidates that have taken fire extinguisher service training and/or kitchen suppression system service training. There is substantial travel throughout the Yukon in the performance of the job duties with some trips lasting up to two weeks at a time. Candidate must have a valid class 5 drivers license and have had it for at least 5 years. Candidates must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lb unassisted repeatedly.
The Candidate must speak/write fluid English.
Candidates must currently live in Canada, preferably in Whitehorse Yukon as this position is based out of Whitehorse, Yukon. Persons who currently live outside of Whitehorse, must move to Whitehorse for this position.
Responsibilities
- Testing and servicing of fire extinguishers under supervision. following NFPA standards.
- Support installation and servicing of Kitchen Suppression Systems under licensed technicians direction.
- Use basic hand and power tools to assist with assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Assist with customer communication under supervision.
- Travel with technicians to Yukon communities to support service activities.
Requirements
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as part of daily responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism when interacting with clients.
- Efficient hand writing and math skills.
- Proficient in English language skill oral and written.
