We are a growing Canadian manufacturer and supplier of slew rings, slew drives, and engineered motion solutions serving customers across North America. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Mississauga.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, rebuilding mechanical equipment, and working in a collaborative environment where quality, innovation, and continuous improvement are valued.
Whether your background is as an Industrial Mechanic, Mechanical Technician, Gearbox Technician, or a similar mechanical trade, we encourage you to apply. Experience with slew rings or slew drives is an asset but not required, we provide comprehensive product training to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair slew rings, slew drives, and related mechanical assemblies.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble bearings, gears, worm shafts, housings, seals, and other mechanical components.
- Identify and correct mechanical failures, wear, contamination, oil leaks, damaged seals, bearing failures, gear damage, and assembly defects.
- Perform functional testing and quality inspections to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
- Prepare inspection reports and document repairs, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Evaluate warranty returns and determine repairable, reusable, or scrap conditions.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts usage documentation.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque tools, and other inspection equipment.
- Support warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, inventory control, picking, packing, and material handling when required.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting equipment (training provided where required).
- Work closely with the Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Sales teams to support daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business operations.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or in a similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience repairing or assembling industrial equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with bearings, gears, hydraulic components, rotating equipment, or power transmission products is highly desirable.
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lb (23 kg) and handle heavier components using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Experience with slew rings or slew drives is preferred but not required.
