About the Role
Sylvan Learning Rosedale is launching a Mother's Day Out Program designed to provide young children with a nurturing, engaging, and educational Montessori-inspired environment while parents enjoy dedicated personal time.
We are seeking a warm, organized, and enthusiastic Montessori Teacher who is passionate about early childhood development and creating meaningful learning experiences for children ages 2.5 - 5 years.
The successful candidate will lead a morning program that fosters independence, curiosity, social development, and school readiness through hands-on Montessori activities and purposeful play.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery
- Plan and facilitate a Montessori-inspired morning program for children ages 2.5 - 5 years.
- Create engaging learning experiences focused on practical life, sensorial activities, language development, early mathematics, art, and social-emotional growth.
- Foster independence, self-confidence, and positive peer interactions.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
Classroom Management
- Prepare and maintain Montessori learning materials and classroom environments.
- Monitor children's progress and developmental milestones.
- Ensure all activities are age-appropriate and aligned with Montessori principles.
Parent Communication
- Welcome families each morning.
- Provide brief updates regarding children's participation and progress.
- Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers.
Program Preparation
- Utilize one hour of daily preparation time to:
- Prepare materials
- Plan lessons
- Organize learning centers
- Complete documentation
- Maintain classroom readiness
Qualifications
Required
- Montessori Diploma (AMI, MACTE, CASA, or equivalent)
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Eligible to work in Canada
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching children ages 2 - 6
- Experience in Montessori classrooms
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
