Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities without causing damage. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and a commitment to adhering to safety protocols while performing excavation tasks.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac equipment to perform safe excavation, exposing underground utilities and structures.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with crew members to plan and execute excavation projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including site conditions and any issues encountered.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during operations.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and minor repairs.
- Assist with other heavy equipment operations as needed, including backhoe operation, bulldozing, grading, and paving.
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with hydrovac trucks.
- Familiarity with backhoe operation, horizontal drilling, grading, and other excavation techniques is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred for operating company vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in all work activities.
