The Business Insights position is focused on the design and delivery of business intelligence solutions, leveraging data visualization to explore operational data and identify insights across multiple datasets. The role is responsible for integrating data from various sources to develop scalable reporting models and dashboards that support decision making.
The position includes the development of reports, dashboards, and KPI frameworks, as well as data preparation, transformation, and analysis using enterprise data platforms. While analytical techniques remain important, the primary focus is on delivering intuitive, high-quality reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI.
This role supports multiple branches and cross-functional initiatives, requiring strong data visualization skills, an understanding of underlying data structures, and the ability to translate business needs into effective reporting experiences.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate, innovate, and recommend data-driven and reporting-based approaches to improve operational processes and decision making.

Build user-friendly reporting experiences, including intuitive layouts, consistent KPI definitions, and self-serve capabilities

Develop, implement, and maintain data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets to support business insights

Analyze data, identify trends, and deliver business-ready dashboards, reports, and KPI views
-
Translate insights into clear, business-friendly dashboards and presentations for operational stakeholders

Design and optimize SQL queries to extract and shape data from enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake)

Automate and optimize reporting pipelines and refresh processes to ensure timely and scalable delivery of insights

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, semantic models, KPIs, and scorecards, with a focus on usability, performance, and business adoption

Utilize analysis best practices to evaluate business issues.

Develop scalable Power BI reporting solutions to support operational performance monitoring and decision making

Investigate and resolve data quality and integrity issues, working with upstream data sources to prevent recurrence

Design and implement data quality monitoring and validation processes for reporting datasets

Provide knowledge transfer of technical skills, report generation, data management, and analysis procedures.

Present findings to appropriate value streams and teams as appropriate.
Qualifications

University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline

Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI is required (including data modeling and DAX)

Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Service, or similar modern BI platforms is strongly preferred

Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation; familiarity with Python is an asset

Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) to source and transform data for reporting

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into reporting solutions

Strong focus on data visualization, user experience, and dashboard usability

Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced multitasking environment.
