Job Overview
Doidge Building Centres is looking for a detail- oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role you will own the accounts receivable function for various locations. Primary duties include tracing and recording payments from customers, resolving discrepancies, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, and excellent customer service abilities. Collaborates closely with other departments, such as collections, finance, branch managers and sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Record and reconcile customer payments, including checks, ACH, wire transfer, e-transfers and credit card transactions
· Reconcile the bank account daily
· Monitor and apply payments accurately and promptly against open invoices
· Address and resolve discrepancies between payments and invoices
· Monitor accounts receivable aging and identify overdue accounts
· First line of defence in monitoring accounts that may become bad debts
· Working with collections implement collection strategies to minimize outstanding balances
· Monitor account receivable aging and identify overdue accounts
· Working with collections contact customers to follow up on outstanding balances and negotiate payment plans when necessary and follow process to suspend delinquent accounts
· Provide regular updates to management on AR metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
· Generate and maintain accounts receivable aging reports, payment status updates and collection progress
· Responsible for setting up new customers with charge accounts following company policy
· Responsible for monthly reconciliation of AR accounts including but not limited to gift cards
· Review payment terms and credit limits
· Escalate unresolved accounts to management
· Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations and internal controls
· Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems
· Responsible for depositing cheques in the bank daily
· Reconcile daily cash balances
· Run, print, email, and mail monthly statements for charge accounts
· Other Duties as Assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
· Business Administration Diploma required
· Proven experience (3+ years) in accounts receivable
Required Knowledge
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
· Proficiency in MS Excel
Skills & Abilities
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers and internal stakeholders
· Attention to detail and accuracy in processing payments
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
· Ability to prioritize tasks, manager workload efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Identify opportunities to improve controls in the organization

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
