Site Description:
Imperial Oil’s Sarnia and Nanticoke refineries are large, high-capacity fuel and chemical production sites operating 24/7. Both facilities handle heavy industrial processes, hazardous materials, and constant transport activity. Security duties include access control, patrols of high-risk zones, monitoring alarms, supporting emergency response plans, and ensuring safe, compliant operations across complex refinery environments.
Key responsibilities:

Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security.

Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.

Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.

Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed.

Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.

Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.

Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.

Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.

Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.

Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.

Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

Security personnel at this location are primary for emergency duties

Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures
Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

Valid G Driver’s License
-
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)

English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
