Intermediate Transportation/Traffic Engineer
We are actively seeking to hire a motivated and experienced Intermediate transportation/traffic engineer who will be managing a wide range of transportation planning and traffic operations projects. In this role, you will be based in our Mississauga office reporting to our Transportation Manager within the Highways & Bridges Business unit.
Responsibilities:

leadership on various project tasks such as:
-
Complex planning studies for multi-sector and multi-model networks.
-
Transportation and infrastructure master plans,
-
Traffic engineering and transportation studies for infrastructure upgrade projects,
-
Traffic engineering and studies for mining and industrial projects,
-
Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA/TIS) reports;
-
Lead engineering and design development on conceptual and functional level designs, traffic operations and safety reviews involving urban and rural roads;
-
Lead traffic engineering studies for mining and industrial projects;
-
Lead traffic engineering studies for infrastructure upgrade projects involving water mains, lane reconfigurations for LRT corridors, BRT corridors, and road widening projects.

Lead or participate in client and contractor meetings;
-
Perform capacity analysis using Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and other traffic analysis software;
-
Highway interchange studies using PTV Vissim;
-
Mentor and guide junior staff through all stages of multiple projects, at various stages of development;

Engage in active business development and proposal writing for civil transportation projects;
-
Ensure project needs are met in a timely and effective manner;
-
Project leadership on all aspects of project life cycle, including:
-
Scheduling
-
Cost management
-
Resource planning
-
Client management
-
Project close-off
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university in Civil engineering, with a strong emphasis on transportation or traffic engineering;
-
5+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects; public sector projects preferred;
-
Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is required;
-
Experience within a consultancy environment, and for Ontario/GTA projects;

Extensive experience in the following areas is a must:

Traffic operations and Transportation modelling
-
Transit planning and/or operations
-
Safety assessment
-
Intelligent transportation systems
-
Well-organized and ability to meet client, budget and schedule requirements;

Must be able to work in a team environment with multiple disciplines;
-
Results-oriented with proven decision-making skills and attention to detail and accuracy;
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required;
-
Familiarity with TAC, OTM, ITE standards and guidelines.
Base salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
