Position Objective:
Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Programs and Corporate Support Services, the Interim Program Director will be responsible for leading a corporate senior’s care strategy and overseeing our vibrant programs including General Medicine/Acute Care for the Elderly, Allied Health, Ambulatory Medicine Clinics, and other programs as assigned. The Interim Program Director of Seniors Care and General Internal Medicine will work with other leaders to further the Hospital’s strategic vision by consistently achieving high-quality, safe care. Through collaboration and thought leadership, the Interim Program Director, Seniors Care and General Internal Medicine is responsible for establishing and managing clinical practices and protocols, program development and evaluation, developing and implementing quality management initiatives and providing individual and group supervision. The Interim Program Director, Seniors Care and General Internal Medicine will work with the Vice-President Clinical Programs and Corporate Support Services to develop and implement a senior friendly strategy and continue to influence our community through leadership and partnership.
Employment Status: Temporary Full Time (January 2027)
Hours of Work: Day shifts from Monday to Friday (some evening and weekend hours may be required based on operational needs) - subject to change as per Management Rights

Career Experience and Core Competencies:

Graduate degree in Nursing or equivalent, Masters degree required

Registration and/or membership with a regulated health governing body, if applicable
-
Canadian Health Executive (CHE), and Leadership courses; LEAN certification, preferred

7 Years clinical experience in acute care required

5 years of management experience required

Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

Knowledge and applied experience in unions, budget management and business acumen

Experience in negotiation, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, issue management, diplomacy, political acuity, collaboration

Experience with Meditech, Hospital automation and digital technology solutions preferred

Experience in Lean or population-based planning, vendor management, project/Change Management, and committee management preferred
