Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism, ensuring that all deliveries are completed accurately and on time. The position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic logistics operation with a focus on maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles to transport goods between locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload cargo, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation for each trip
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Ensure the security of cargo during transportation and handle any unforeseen problems professionally
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type
- Proven experience driving heavy trucks or commercial vehicles, preferably in a logistics or freight environment
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for safe driving
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading/unloading processes
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps while adhering to schedules
