Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable person to join our team who has mechanical, plumbing and electrical knowledge, along with excellent problem-solving skills.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am-6pm.
On Call every other week.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring facility systems/equipment is operating within parameters.
- Providing general maintenance duties for all aspects of the Hatchery and Office facility.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic to troubleshoot and possibly repair of Hatchery production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service unless professional services are needed.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment as needed.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Maintain accurate records for maintenance logs and preventive maintenance program
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions if possible.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- On call every other week. Must live within 30 minutes of Stratford.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience working in maintenance capacity.
- Physical ability to perform duties; including but not limited to bending, lifting to a maximum of 50 lbs., etc.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing english.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with live animals
Education and Certification Requirements
- High School Diploma or its equivalent required
- Valid ON driver’s license
