Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and dependable Commissary Assistant to join our growing food production team. This role is essential in supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the commissary through administrative coordination, inventory control, purchasing, receiving, and accounting duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities while helping maintain efficiency, accuracy, and high operational standards in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Process invoices, perform data entry, and maintain accurate purchasing and accounting records
- Assist with accounts payable documentation and invoice matching
- Conduct regular inventory counts and monitor stock levels of food, packaging, and supplies
- Receive deliveries and verify quantity, quality, and accuracy of incoming orders
- Report shortages, damaged items, or discrepancies to management and vendors
- Create purchase orders and coordinate supply orders as needed
- Maintain organized storage areas and support proper stock rotation practices
- Monitor staff performance and ensure assigned daily tasks are completed efficiently
- Help enforce cleanliness, food safety, and workplace safety standards
- Support staff scheduling communication and assist with onboarding or training new team members
- Prepare reports and provide general administrative support to management
- Work closely with kitchen and operations teams to improve workflow and efficiency
Requirements
- Previous experience in accounting, commissary kitchen, food production, warehouse, or administrative environments preferred
- Basic accounting knowledge including invoice entry, reconciliations, and record keeping
- Strong computer skills with experience using Excel, email, and inventory systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and inventory control practices is an asset
- Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and willingness to take initiative

Pay: $48,914.57-$60,480.52 per year
