Cornerstone Church is a new church in Okotoks with a mission to connect, equip, and send people to see lives transformed with Jesus as their Cornerstone. Cornerstone Church is still a smaller congregation with about a dozen children, and currently has a strong team of volunteers in place. As we grow, we are looking for a relational, proactive leader to join our team as a part-time Children’s and Outreach Minister.
This role is designed to bridge the gap between our church family and the Okotoks community, focusing on the spiritual formation of the next generation and creating pathways for new families to find a home at Cornerstone. The outreach opportunities would primarily focus towards children’s related events.
About the Role
The Children’s and Outreach Minister will work collaboratively with the lead pastor and leadership team to:
- Provide Spiritual Leadership: Create engaging discipleship pathways specifically for children (0–12) and their families.
- Engage the Community: Design and lead outreach initiatives that connect Cornerstone Church with our local community related to kids outreach.
- Equip Parents: Mentor and support parents/caregivers, providing them with the tools to nurture faith within their homes.
- Build Teams: Recruit, train, and support a vibrant team of volunteers dedicated to children's ministry and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Children’s Discipleship & Next Gen
- Develop and implement Sunday children’s programming and curriculum.
- Create ministry opportunities for children to grow in faith and community connection.
- Support and equip parents to be the primary disciplers of their children in conjunction with other church leadership.
Outreach & Community Connection
- Initiate and lead local outreach events (e.g., Kid’s Festival / Kid’s Camp).
- Develop strategies to welcome and integrate new families into the life of the church.
- Represent Cornerstone Church at community functions to build local relationships.
Leadership & Volunteer Development
- Recruit and train volunteers for children’s and outreach departments.
- Develop clear pathways for leadership growth among church members.
- Assist in planning and leading church-wide events.
Qualifications
- A man or woman in a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A clear sense of calling to ministry, specifically involving children.
- Experience working with families in a ministry context or relevant theological training is a plus.
- Relational Self-Starter: Outgoing, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced church-planting environment.
- Agreement with the mission, vision, and theological positions of Cornerstone Church.
- Looking for someone from Canada or the US; unable to provide visa support outside of these countries.

Pay: $28,000.00-$35,000.00 per year
