Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of industrial and construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with heavy trucks and machinery. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our ongoing operations.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and performing major and minor repair work on motors, pumps, hydraulic equipment, diesel engines, compressors, controls, valves, and other related equipment.
- Inspecting, adjusting, and replacing necessary equipment, units, and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and equipment deficiencies.
- Troubleshooting of engine, hydraulic, electrical, braking and powertrain systems.
- Knowledge and experience operating all equipment for positioning and diagnosing purposes
- Conduct welding and fabrication work as needed to repair or modify equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery to disassemble, repair, and reassemble components
- Diagnose complex problems related to industrial equipment and develop effective solutions
- Perform upgrades or modifications as required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations
Qualifications:
- Journeyman HD Mechanic ticket
- Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
- Familiarity with electrical systems and diagnostics
- Experience working with Kenworth and Peterbuilt equipment is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
