Bartender Job Description
The Bartender is responsible for delivering outstanding food and beverage service while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient bar. This position requires strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
The Bartender works closely with the restaurant team to ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service while maintaining all company standards for beverage preparation, responsible alcohol service, cleanliness, and cash handling.

Duties & Responsibilities
● Knowledgeable about the restaurant including all products, menus and promotions - be able to relate all information in appealing and informative manner to all guests
● Knowledge of all Banff Lodging properties including property information, amenities and hours of operation
● Table & bar service - taking orders, answering menu and beverage inquiries, explaining daily features, placing orders with kitchen while following all standards as it pertains to each task
● Delivery of food and beverage to tables in the dining room and lounge
● Processing bills and taking payment
● Handling guest concerns with and without the support of the management team
● Providing the highest quality of service at all times in all guest interactions
● Clearing, setting, polishing, and cleaning tables, glassware and utensils
● Preparation and cleanliness of the bar area and equipment before, after and during each service
● Proper adherence to all cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies
● Correct use of POS system, adhering to all company standards and policies
● Preparing alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
● Mix ingredients to prepare classic and specialty cocktails – ensure consistent adherence to recipes
● Ensure consistent inventory through regular inventories and recipe adherence – maintain liquor and bar supplies
● Maintain highest level of cleanliness on all bar surfaces including counters, tools, and equipment
● Ensure safe and responsible alcohol service as per all Smart Serve Regulations
● Count and reconcile bar float and daily transactions
● Ensure food is presented with exceptional level of detail prior to delivering to guests
Job Requirements
● Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-paced environment
● Minimum of 1-year related bartending experience
● Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a full-service restaurant environment
● Fluency in English both written and verbal
● Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
● Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 30lbs, must be able to stoop and bend
● Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
● Current and valid Serving it Right/Pro Serve certification
