Overview
Power Shotcrete Structures is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Concrete Finishing Foreman to lead and oversee concrete finishing operations on construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, and proficiency with construction management tools. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Concrete Finishing Foreman will coordinate teams, manage schedules, and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
Duties
- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade;
- Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete;
- Operate power vibrator to compact concrete;
- Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float;
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools;
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete;
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete;
- Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces;
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of floors, walls, roads and other concrete structures.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in concrete finishing or related construction fields
- Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and industry best practices
- Must be fluent in English
- ACI Certification;
- Complete 500 hrs training;
- Pass ACI written exam;
- Performance examination;
- Practical field evaluation;
- Experience with construction management processes such as budgeting, quality control, and scheduling
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Construction background with familiarity in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members
