Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Concrete Worker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of concrete work, including formwork, finishing, and related masonry tasks. This role involves working on diverse projects such as commercial, residential, and renovation sites, requiring a strong understanding of construction principles and safety protocols. Candidates should possess a range of skills including mechanical knowledge, heavy equipment operation, and blueprint reading to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and efficient project completion.
Responsibilities
- Construct and install concrete forms using carpentry skills and blueprint schematics
- Mix, pour, and finish concrete surfaces with precision using hand tools and power tools
- Operate heavy equipment safely for lifting and moving materials
- Install rebar and reinforcement materials according to project specifications
- Perform masonry tasks such as restoration, caulking, and flooring installation as needed
- Read blueprints and schematics to interpret project requirements accurately
- Ensure proper curing and finishing of concrete surfaces to meet quality standards
- Collaborate with team members on renovation projects, adhering to safety guidelines at all times
- Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment used during construction activities
- Assist with welding, demolition, or other related tasks as required for project completion
Qualifications
- Proven experience in concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction tools and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and scaffolding systems
- Experience with rebar installation, caulking, welding, flooring installation, and restoration projects preferred
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in construction environments
- Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks over extended periods
- Knowledge of construction standards related to renovation projects is a plus
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
