About Unico Power
Unico Power Corporation is a Canadian-owned clean technology company specializing in Energy Management Systems (EMS) and intelligent EV charging infrastructure and for multi-unit residential, townhome, and commercial properties. Operating since 2017, we manage EV charging programs across more than 200 buildings in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario — and we're growing.
We are a lean, high-performance team that moves fast, solves hard problems, and takes deep pride in the quality of our customer relationships. We are seeking an experienced Customer Success Leader to supervise and coordinate our customer operations function in British Columbia — a senior role responsible for the performance, reliability, and long-term success of our customer base in the province.
The Role:
The Product Line Leader owns Unico Power's product portfolio end to end — the hardware and software that make up our intelligent EV charging and energy management systems, from the Cerebro and Ligero EMS platforms and the Maestro controller to our FAROS gateways, Lucero EVSEs, and the Listo home and townhome product line.
This is a broad, senior role for someone who pairs genuine technical depth with product-management discipline. You'll set product strategy, own the roadmap, drive new products from concept to production, and act as the technical hub connecting engineering, sales, operations, and customer success. As Unico Power expands toward whole-home and whole-building energy management — the "Electrification of Things" — this role shapes where the product goes next.
Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap and strategy across the full product line — EMS platforms (Cerebro, Ligero), on-site controllers (Maestro), gateways (FAROS), EVSEs (Lucero / Lucero Pro), and the Listo single-family and townhome products
- Translate market needs, customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and company vision into clear product requirements
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) end to end — concept, development, certification, launch, and iteration
- Partner closely with engineering to prioritize the roadmap and deliver on it
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including product transitions and retirement (e.g., moving customers from legacy EVSEs to current models)
- Own product-level compliance and certification (CSA, UL, OCPP, and related standards)
- Manage hardware supplier, manufacturer, and vendor relationships — sourcing, technical specification, and quality
- Serve as the senior technical product resource for sales, operations, and customer success teams
- Analyze the competitive landscape and inform pricing, positioning, and product differentiation
- Track product performance and field reliability data to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
All requirements are mandatory. Applications that do not meet all of the following criteria will not be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical engineering discipline)
- Product management or product leadership experience in a technical hardware and/or software environment
- Demonstrated new product introduction (NPI) experience — taking products from concept through to production
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, power management, EV charging, or closely related technology
- Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional technical teams
- Ability to translate between deep technical detail and clear business and customer language
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple product streams simultaneously
Nice to Have:
- Direct experience in the EV charging or energy management industry
- Familiarity with OCPP and EV charging communication standards
- Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
- Exposure to certification processes (CSA, UL) for connected electrical hardware
