A & A Excavation Ltd has been taking on the special excavation projects for more than 25 years in Vancouver and the lower mainland of BC. We have the most experienced crew for a variety of deep excavation projects. We are proud that we are the first company in British Columbia that has combined excavation and shoring with trucking to make sure we deliver the most efficient and productive service to our clients. We run more than 30 trucks and a large fleet of heavy plant equipment. We are looking to hire 2 Shoring Foreman NOC 72021 to join our team as soon as possible.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hourly wage: $39.00 to $41.00 per hour (depending on skill and experience level)
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
Benefits: Full Extended Health Benefits
Schedule: Monday to Friday / Occasional weekends are required
Overtime pay: 1.5 % after 8 hours a day and after 40 hours a week, as per BC Labour Laws.
Work Location: Various locations within the lower mainland area.
Office Location: Forest Street, Burnaby, BC V5G 3x3
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of shoring crews on excavation and foundation projects.
· Assign work to crew members and monitor productivity, quality, and safe work practices.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, shoring layouts, elevations, and project specifications.
· Coordinate excavation activities with excavator operators to ensure excavations are completed according to engineered requirements.
· Oversee and assist with anchor drilling, tieback anchor installation, reinforcing steel (rebar and mesh) installation, and shotcrete application.
· Monitor excavation stability, soil conditions, and site safety throughout construction.
· Conduct daily toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety policies.
· Inspect completed work to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
· Train and mentor crew members in excavation safety, shoring installation, anchor drilling procedures, and proper use of equipment and tools.
· Coordinate material deliveries and maintain an efficient workflow to meet project schedules.
Required Knowledge and Skills
· Thorough knowledge of excavation support and temporary shoring systems.
· Experience with anchor drilling, tieback anchor installation, reinforcing steel (rebar and mesh), and shotcrete applications.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and project specifications.
· Knowledge of excavation safety, soil conditions, and ground disturbance requirements.
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2–4 years of experience in excavation, shoring, foundation, or heavy civil construction.
· Experience leading crews performing excavation support, anchor drilling, and shotcrete work.
· Ground Disturbance Level II certification is an asset.
· Occupational First Aid and Fall Protection certifications are considered assets.
Working Conditions
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions on active construction sites involving deep excavations, excavators, concrete pumps, anchor drilling equipment, and shotcrete operations. The position requires physical stamina, leadership, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
