Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Grader Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating graders and other heavy equipment to perform grading, paving, and site preparation tasks. This role requires mechanical knowledge, proficiency in heavy equipment operation, and a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols. The Grader Operator plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of grading work for various construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate grader machines to level and prepare surfaces for paving or other construction activities
- Use dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, and other heavy equipment as needed to support site operations
- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with paving operations and ensure proper alignment and grading standards are met
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential safety hazards and address them promptly
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines and specifications
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment usage
Experience
- Proven experience operating grader machinery in a construction or heavy civil environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, excavator, and horizontal drilling is highly desirable
- Commercial driving experience preferred, with a valid license required
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment and heavy machinery used in paving projects is a plus
- Prior involvement in construction projects emphasizing grading, paving, or site preparation is beneficial
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
