Maintenance Technician/ Industrial Millwright
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician / Industrial Millwright is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment, utilities, and building systems. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on production equipment and facility infrastructure, including burn-off ovens, dry-off ovens, high-pressure compressors, sleeving and packaging equipment, pretreatment systems, powder coating equipment, wastewater treatment systems, HVAC systems, and associated utilities.
The Maintenance Technician utilizes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems expertise to troubleshoot equipment issues, minimize downtime, improve reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all assigned production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system failures.
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and condition monitoring of equipment and systems.
- Complete planned maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency situations to minimize operational disruptions.
- Support maintenance activities during scheduled shutdowns and plant outages.
- Fabricate, modify, and install parts and assemblies using blueprints, drawings, sketches, or specifications.
- Recommend and implement solutions for recurring equipment reliability issues.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, working at heights, and other applicable safety procedures.
- Monitor building climate control systems to ensure proper environmental conditions are maintained.
- Support utility shutdowns and start-ups by identifying affected systems and ensuring safe restoration of services.
- Participate in system commissioning, testing, training, and start-up activities for new equipment and facility installations.
CMMS & Documentation
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and close work orders with detailed and accurate information.
- Record labour hours, materials, and maintenance activities in the CMMS.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records, inspection reports, testing documentation, and equipment histories.
- Document equipment failures, corrective actions, and abnormal operating conditions.
Engineering & Project Support
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new equipment and capital projects.
- Serve as a technical resource during project planning and implementation.
- Work with engineering and operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment modifications.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors and external service providers as required.
Qualifications
- Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and automated control systems.
- Experience using CMMS software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
- Flexibility to work, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
