As a member of our team you’ll be:
- Responsible for fire protection through cleaning and certifying ductwork, fans, hoods of commercial kitchen exhaust systems.
- Power wash kitchen exhaust hood systems, ductwork, hood filters
- Clean rooftop exhaust fans and grease containment systems
- Install auxiliary items including access panels, hinge kits and grease containment systems
- Conduct alterations, repairs to existing systems
- Complete new and retrofit installations
- Maintain company equipment and service vehicle
- Complete electronic and paper service reports in a timely manner
- Follow all company related policies & procedures
- ***MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER LICENSE*** Drive company vehicle (if requested). Driving company vehicles to and from job sites so a Valid Drivers License with good driving record is a must.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Cleaning Kitchen Grease Exhaust Vent Systems, kitchen equipment, and other items as requested.
- Setting up and operating various pressure washing equipment and chemical applications.
- Manually removing buildup of heavier grease with various hand scrapers and mechanical equipment.Working efficiently as part of a team to assure the work can be completed during a specified window.
Qualifications:
- - ASTTBC certification an asset - Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician.
- - Experience in the trade required
Abilities:
- Must be able to sit, kneel, stand, walk, stoop, bend, lift, push, carry, pull and store cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to load/unload heavy equipment on and/or off of work van.
- Must be able to climb and work safely on a ladder and at heights.
- Must be able to travel out of town for part of the work. Assignments will be located within the Lower Mainland BC. Must have a flexible schedule to work nights.
Skills:
A commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning technician requires a range of skills to effectively and safely perform their job. These skills include:
- Knowledge of HVAC Systems: Understanding how commercial kitchen exhaust systems operate and how to clean them effectively.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fire safety procedures.
- Cleaning Techniques: Proficiency in using various cleaning methods and equipment, such as pressure washers, steam cleaners, and chemical cleaners.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring thorough cleaning to remove grease and prevent fire hazards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and address issues within the exhaust system, such as blockages or damaged components.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of industry standards and regulations, including NFPA 96 and local health codes.
- Basic Mechanical Skills: Ability to dismantle and reassemble parts of the exhaust system as needed for cleaning.
- Customer Service: Effective communication skills to interact with clients and address their concerns.
- Time Management: Efficiently managing time to complete cleaning tasks within scheduled timeframes.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
