Junior Hair Stylist / Braider – Job Description
Consult with clients to determine their preferred hairstyles and provide professional recommendations based on hair type and condition.
Perform a wide range of braiding services, including box braids, knotless braids, cornrows, feed-in braids, twists, faux locs, Senegalese twists, passion twists, cornrows and crochet styles.
Install, style, and maintain human hair and synthetic hair extensions.
Prepare clients' hair by washing, conditioning, detangling, blow-drying, and sectioning before braiding.
Create neat, consistent, and long-lasting braid patterns while ensuring client comfort.
Educate clients on proper hair and scalp care, maintenance routines, and product recommendations.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness by sanitizing tools, workstations, and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Schedule appointments and manage daily client bookings efficiently.
Process client payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
Promote salon products and recommend hair care items that support braid longevity and healthy hair.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, resulting in repeat business and referrals.
Stay up to date with current braiding techniques, hairstyles, and industry trends through ongoing training and professional development.
Handle customer inquiries, resolve concerns professionally, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Assist with salon inventory by monitoring and restocking braiding hair, styling products, and other supplies.
Train or mentor junior braiders and assistants on proper braiding techniques and salon procedures, when required.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
