JayJaxx Power Systems Ltd. is a Western Canadian power generation company specializing in the sales, service, maintenance, commissioning, rental, and emergency support of standby and prime power generator systems. We provide reliable power solutions to municipal, commercial, industrial, utility, institutional, and resource sector clients throughout Alberta and Western Canada.
Our team delivers a full range of generator services, including preventative maintenance programs, load bank testing, troubleshooting and repairs, automatic transfer switch (ATS) testing, generator commissioning, start-up support, system upgrades, and emergency callout services. We support diesel, natural gas, and propane-fueled power generation equipment from a wide range of manufacturers.
In addition to field service and maintenance, JayJaxx Power Systems provides turnkey power system solutions, including equipment supply, installation coordination, controls integration, project management, and long-term asset management support.
Ideal candidates would be:
- Electric Motor Service Technician (EMST) with generator experience
- Journeyman Electrician with extensive generator installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience
- Generator field service technician from a dealer such as Cummins, Finning/CAT, Toromont, Wajax, Generac, Kohler, MTU, etc.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Generator preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshooting and repair of diesel, natural gas, and propane generators
- Generator commissioning and start-up
- ATS installation, troubleshooting, and testing
- Load bank testing
- Emergency service and after-hours support as required
- Customer relationship management and technical support
- Assisting with project execution and field leadership
Required qualifications:
- EMST, Journeyman Electrician, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong understanding of generator controls, engines, and electrical systems
- Experience with diesel and natural gas standby power systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Valid driver's license with clean abstract
- Ability to work independently in the field
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward, or other generator control platforms
- ATS commissioning experience
- Previous experience working for a generator dealer or service provider
- Industrial, municipal, oilfield, or commercial standby power experience
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
