Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Co-op Student specializing in Mechanical or Energy Engineering to join our team for the Summer Term. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in system design, product development, and manufacturing processes within a dynamic engineering environment. The ideal candidate will support ongoing projects, contribute to innovative solutions, and develop practical skills aligned with their academic background.
Duties
- Assist in the design and analysis of mechanical systems using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Support system and product development activities, including creating schematics and technical drawings.
- Participate in manufacturing and construction planning, applying lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes.
- Contribute to system design projects involving electrical and mechanical components, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and microcontrollers.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on system integration, maintenance planning, and process improvement initiatives.
- Document project progress and technical findings for review by senior engineers.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, MicroStation, or similar platforms.
- Experience or coursework related to manufacturing processes, construction, systems engineering, or product development.
- Understanding of schematics, system design principles, and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong math skills for modeling and analysis purposes.
