Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shelter Manager to oversee the daily operations of our shelter facility. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of shelter staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee intake and discharge processes for residents, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Develop and implement program plans that meet the needs of residents and align with organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, health regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Provide leadership in crisis situations, offering support and guidance to staff and residents as needed.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to promote professional development.
- Foster positive relationships with community partners, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
- Monitor shelter operations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Experience
- Proven administrative experience in managing programs or facilities within a social services or nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial management, or resource allocation.
- Prior program management experience with a focus on service delivery to vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
- Supervising experience is essential; candidates should have a track record of leading teams effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities efficiently.
