Medpoint Health Care is looking for Kinesiologists who are career oriented and have a passion for proactive health care. Reporting to the Manager of Fitness, the Kinesiologist is responsible for reviewing medical profiles and developing individualized exercise programs. The Kinesiologist is also responsible for ensuring clients are performing the exercises correctly and correcting as necessary, as well as liaising with Medpoint's Dietitian and other medical professional as required. The Personal Trainer may also be required to conduct fitness assessments as required, such as the Bod Pod, VALD and Fit 3D.
Duties & Responsibilities
Review medical profiles, identify goals, and develop individualized exercise programs for clients; Observe clients performing exercises to ensure they are completing the exercises properly and correct when required; Provide diet and lifestyle suggestions to client as needed;
Correspond with clients and schedule sessions;*
Monitor and track clients progress and alter exercise program as needed;* *
Liaise with Medpoint's nutritionist, dietician or other medical professional as required;* *
Conduct fitness assessments as required (Bod Pod, Fit 3D, etc.); and*
Other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions
Majority of work completed in a gym environment with moderate potential for health and safety hazards;
Significant amount of time spent moving, walking, and lifting when working with clients;*
Moderate amount of time using office equipment, computer, and peripherals (e.g. mouse and keyboard) which may cause muscle strain;*
Qualifications & Required Skills
Completion of Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology (or equivalent);*
Registered and in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario is considered an asset;* *
Current CPR certification is an asset;* *
Previous personal training experience is considered an asset;*
Ability to collaborate and be a team player;
Ability to act in a professional manner when interacting with clients and medical professionals; and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Masks are required for all staff and clients
