Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mold Setup Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and setting up molds for production runs, ensuring efficient operation, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with various tools and machinery, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Mold Setup Technician plays a critical role in optimizing production processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate molds using hand tools, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure proper fit and function.
- Operate CNC machines, CNC lathes, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to facilitate mold adjustments and maintenance.
- Utilize forklift and warehouse experience to move raw materials, molds, and finished products safely within the facility.
- Conduct quality inspections on molds and finished parts to verify adherence to specifications and standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on molds and machinery to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with machining operations, including using machining tools and assembly techniques, to modify or repair molds as needed.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve setup times, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Document setup procedures, measurements, and inspection results accurately for process control and quality assurance purposes.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Experience operating CNC machines, CNC lathes, or other machining equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within warehouse or plant settings.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Warehouse experience including material handling and inventory management is a plus.
- Background in quality inspection processes to ensure product standards are met.

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
