About Canada Candy Company
Canada Candy Company (CCC), based in Cobourg, is home of our Candy Manufacturing facility within Johnvince Company™. CCC delivers high-quality, performance-driven candy and snack solutions to leading retail and foodservice partners across Canada.
The Opportunity
The Electrician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and uptime of production equipment across the facility.
This role executes preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnoses mechanical issues, and delivers timely, effective repairs to support continuous operations. Success is measured through equipment uptime, responsiveness, maintenance execution, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Modifies, repairs, installs, maintains, improves, and troubleshoots various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing and packaging departments.

Diagnoses Electrical and mechanical problems, provides quick & innovative solutions for the equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving.

Operates electrical meters, can run lines, replaces electrical boxes and other machine shop tools.

Deals with ESA, OHSA and MOL on electrical matters, can read and understand electrical drawings.

Able to work with all levels of voltage up to and including 600 V

Set up, take down, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment.

Modifies packaging & process equipment for new products.

Performs preventative maintenance, and safety inspection.

Provides solution to routine or unique equipment problems.

Promptly responds to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner.

Responsible for lockout procedures.

Works safely and follows legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.

Any additional duties as required in adherence to the CCC GMP policies.
What You Bring
-
3–4 years of progressive experience in an industrial electrical maintenance or manufacturing environment
-
Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and production equipment to support operational uptime
-
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively under pressure
-
Hands-on experience with electrical systems up to and including 600V, including motors, control panels, wiring, electrical boxes, and production machinery

Working knowledge of PLCs, conveyors, packaging/process equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
-
Experience performing preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and equipment modifications for continuous improvement initiatives

Solid understanding of ESA, OHSA, GMP, and lockout/tagout procedures with a strong commitment to workplace safety

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
-
Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction & Maintenance Electrician (309A); additional mechanical or Millwright experience considered an asset

Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, maintenance tools, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Compensation & Benefits
This position is classified within our Technical / Skilled Trades Career Framework.
Grade: P3
The P3 level reflects a fully qualified Industrial Electrician with strong technical expertise, capable of independently performing complex electrical maintenance, troubleshooting production and facility equipment, and supporting overall plant reliability and operational uptime.
Progression is performance-based and aligned with technical capability, safety performance, responsiveness, and contributions to operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
