Position Summary
As a Registered Community Pharmacist, you will play an important role in providing patient-centered pharmacy services, medication counselling, prescription verification and dispensing, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. You will receive ongoing support and guidance as you transition into independent practice and develop your professional expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely.
- Provide medication counselling and patient education.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in medication management and pharmacy care programs.
- Ensure compliance with all professional, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Support narcotic and controlled drug stewardship, including Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) services where applicable.
- Build positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners.
- Contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-focused environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Current unrestricted Practising Pharmacist licence with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, or eligibility to obtain licensure before the start date.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (Level C or HCP), or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Successful completion of the BCPHA OAT CAMPP Program, or willingness to complete training.
- Experience using Kroll pharmacy software through practicum, internship, or employment.
- Authorization to Administer Drugs by Injection, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Additional language skills are considered an asset.
