We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Automotive Buyer / Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our growing dealership team in Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, appraising, purchasing, and managing used vehicle inventory while building strong relationships with customers, wholesalers, auctions, and industry partners.
Responsibilities
- Source and purchase quality pre-owned vehicles through:
o customer trade-ins
o private sellers
o online marketplaces
o auctions
o dealer networks
o service drive through
- Conduct vehicle appraisals and evaluate market value using industry tools
- Negotiate vehicle purchases to maximize profitability
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and inventory demand
- Work closely with sales and management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels
- Ensure all vehicle documentation and ownership transfers comply with OMVIC and Ontario regulations
- Build relationships with repeat sellers, wholesalers, and fleet accounts
- Assist with merchandising and vehicle pricing strategies
- Meet monthly acquisition and profitability targets
Requirements
- Previous automotive dealership, sales, or buying experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of used vehicle valuation tools and market trends
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- OMVIC license considered an asset
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong organizational and computer skills
