We're looking for a motivated, tech-savvy Home Automation Integrator who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving problems, and thrives in a constantly evolving industry.
About the Role
As a Home Automation Integrator, you'll install, configure, program, and service integrated smart home systems that enhance the comfort, convenience, entertainment, and security of our clients' homes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technology, learning new systems, and providing exceptional customer service. You'll work independently and alongside other technicians on projects ranging from new home construction to retrofit installations.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality installations while representing Beyond Audio professionally in our clients' homes.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot home automation systems
- Program and commission Control4 smart home systems
- Install and integrate:
- Multi-room audio/video systems
- Home theatres
- Security and surveillance systems
- Networking and Wi-Fi systems
- Lighting control
- Automated shading
- Climate control systems
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and client demonstrations
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and service calls
- Read and interpret project documentation, wiring diagrams, and system layouts
- Maintain organized job documentation and service records
- Work safely and efficiently on construction sites and occupied homes
- Travel to client locations throughout the Okanagan
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through professional communication and service

Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of residential AV or home automation installation experience
- Strong understanding of residential networking fundamentals
- Experience with AV equipment installation and system integration
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, test equipment, and software platforms
- Physically capable of lifting equipment and performing rough-in and finish installation work
- Valid BC Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
Nice to Have
- Experience installing and servicing Control4 systems
- Control4 Associate Installer certification
- Control4 Associate Programmer certification
- Experience with Lutron HomeWorks and RadioRA lighting control systems
- Experience installing automated shades
- CEDIA Certified Installer (CEDIA Cabling & Infrastructure Technician or equivalent)
- PCNA (Pakedge Certified Network Administrator) certification or equivalent networking certification
- Experience with enterprise or managed residential networking
- Experience with surveillance, access control, or alarm integration

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall fit, with a typical range of $65,000–$75,000 per year.
