Roofing Superintendent (Supervisor)

Salary Range: $80,000-$140,00 a year
Summary of Role: The roofing superintendent role provided by our trustworthy client will take on a crucial and interactive leadership role. Such a role requires someone who is organized, a decision-maker, knows how to meet goals, and can manage a team. A roofing superintendent will manage and streamline tasks and projects, holding authority as second-in-command and being a foundational part of the company.
Primary Responsibilities:
Schedule jobs with contractors and deliveries
Identify arising issues or areas requiring attention in projects and day-to-day tasks and work to resolve them
Review and approve employee schedules and assignments
Manage subcontractors and interact with general contractors
Review and approve subcontractor and contractor invoices
Create and send labour purchase orders and purchase orders for materials and units as required
Order shop supplies as required
Create material lists based on product specifications, takeoffs, and quotes
Conduct regular site visits and confirm safety compliance on-site and by employees and subcontractors
Attend team meetings regularly
Maintain communications with inspectors and clients through regular progress updates
Review inspection reports and correct activities and risks as assessed
Review and send out RCABC warranty forms
Send out RCABC completion documents during closing of projects
Remain communicative with and answerable to the owner
Notify the owner of projects coming to a close so that necessary steps to close projects can be taken
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing, building envelope, or a related construction trade, with at least 2 years in a project coordination, project management, or operations role
Knowledge of RCABC warranty and document processing is an asset
Experience in reading and reviewing takeoffs ( knowledge of construction takeoff software, such as PlanSwift, is an asset)
Familiarity with MS Teams and Office
Valid BC driver's licence and ability to travel to job sites throughout the Lower Mainland
Skills Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact with clients, inspectors, contractors, and suppliers
