Full Time, On Site 40 hours per week
8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday core hours, with one evening per 6-week period and one Saturday per 6 weeks for group/workshop availability
Salary: $40.31 - $47.75 per hour (40-hour work week)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a critical thinking and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support the delivery of speech and language therapy services in a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work with Adults & Children with communication challenges, implementing therapy plans and helping clients achieve their communication goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of the individuals, and assess individuals’ strengths, communication, and swallowing; diagnose/confirm any communication disorder; and screen for potential disorders in hearing and implement appropriate intervention

Provide management and intervention around disorder(s); provide direct skills training and utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches with individuals where appropriate

To ensure the coordination and provision of consultation/training and education for community support resources and the families

To work with an inter-disciplinary team in the delivery of an integrated biopsycholsocial model for professional services

To provide speech and language services to individuals having both developmental disability and challenging mental health
- Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate pathology protocols/plans for assigned individuals and determine need for further assessment.

Provide outreach, consultation and time limited treatment and training services to individuals

Maintaining accurate documentation of referrals, assessment, Individual Training Plans, structured activities and progress reports; coordinating referrals to external consultants, specialists, and with the physician in areas that require clinical authorization from the medical profession.

Follow all clinical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and professional regulations
Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or Communication Sciences and Disorders)

Current registration with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)

Minimum two (2) years experience after graduation providing professional speech/language therapy services

Experience working with individuals with communication disorders, adults with developmental disabilities (preferred)

Expertise needed in augmentative/assistive communication for nonverbal individuals with autism, feeding and swallowing assessments, IDDSI model familiarity

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently without daily supervision and work collaboratively within a clinical team

Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented

Passion for helping individuals improve their communication skills

Valid Ontario driver's license required
