Kosher Catering & Meal Program Coordinator / Kitchen Helper
Position Summary
The Catering & Meal Program Coordinator / Kitchen Helper is responsible for coordinating catering orders and meals on wheels programs while providing hands-on support to the head chef with food preparation, kitchen operations, and event service. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Catering & Meal Program Coordination
- Coordinate catering orders as the come in.
- Communicate with clients to confirm accuracy of order and menus, dietary requirements, event details, and timelines.
- Responsible for the daily preparation, packaging and accuracy for the kosher meals on wheels program.
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Maintain accurate records of catering orders and customer information.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and client satisfaction.
Kitchen Support
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, packaging, and presentation.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and organizing food items.
- Support head chef during meal preparation and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas at all times.
- Receive and store deliveries according to food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering.
- Follow all food handling, safety, and workplace health regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in catering, food service, hospitality, or kitchen operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to lift and carry catering equipment and supplies, up to 50lbs is required.
- Ability to work early weekday mornings and some special events, as required.
- English speaking, reading an writing is mandatory.
- Kosher kitchen knowledge and understanding of Jewish practices considered and asset.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.

This combined position is ideal for someone who enjoys both coordinating and actively contributing to food preparation and service operations. Expect to always be hands-on, desk duties are limited. 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred with opportunity for advancement for the right candidate.
This position is not your “typical” kitchen position. This is a small team, with the expectation that you will catch on quickly, learn as you observe and be willing to do all jobs from washing dishes to chopping vegetables, packing orders to baking knishes!

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
