About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Assistant to join our busy and collaborative primary care and walk-in clinic team. This position is ideal for an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has completed medical school and successfully completed the NAC-OSCE, and who either holds a Clinical Assistant license or is actively pursuing Clinical Assistant registration/licensure.
This role offers extensive hands-on clinical exposure in Family Medicine and Urgent Care while working directly alongside experienced physicians and allied health professionals. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals planning to pursue residency training through CaRMS and seeking meaningful Canadian clinical experience, mentorship, and strong professional references.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work under physician supervision and assist with day-to-day clinical operations, including:
- Conducting patient interviews and obtaining comprehensive medical histories
- Performing focused and general physical examinations
- Presenting patient assessments and management plans to supervising physicians
- Assisting with patient flow and clinic efficiency
- Supporting physicians during office procedures
- Assisting with documentation and clinical charting
- Participating in walk-in clinic and family practice patient encounters
- Reviewing investigations and relevant clinical information prior to physician assessment
- Collaborating with physicians and allied health professionals to optimize patient care
- Contributing to quality improvement and patient-centered care initiatives

QualificationsRequired
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent)
- Successful completion of NAC-OSCE
- Eligibility for Clinical Assistant registration/licensure, or currently licensed as a Clinical Assistant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical assessment skills and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Organized with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with healthcare standards
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality patient support
Preferred:
- Previous Canadian clinical experience
- Experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Primary Care settings
- Experience with EMR documentation
