Fielding Resources is a team of experienced and passionate forestry consultants, dedicated to helping land and tenure owners manage their forests economically and responsibly. We provide a wide range of services, including timber development, forest inventory and analysis, timber appraisals and cruising, road layout and design, and GIS mapping and analysis, with intent to expand our services to suit an everchanging market.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our team and support strategic and operational forest management planning. The role is ideal for an individual who is comfortable working independently, solving complex spatial problems, and developing innovative GIS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide GIS analysis, mapping, and spatial data management for forestry operations.
- Support strategic planning under the Great Bear Rainforest Order (GBRO) including LRDs, implementation tracking, and spatial analysis.
- Provide operational mapping support.
- Perform QA/QC to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Support the development and maintenance of GIS infrastructure and workflows.
- Create and maintain web mapping applications, dashboards and mobile GIS solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in GIS, Forestry, or a related natural resource discipline.
· A minimum of three (3) years of GIS experience, preferably in forestry or natural resources.
· Experience using ESRI Products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) and/or QGIS.
· Experience developing GIS workflows using ModelBuilder, Python, Arcade, or similar tools.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Considered an Asset:
· Forestry or natural resource management experience.
· Knowledge of BC forestry legislation and land use planning (i.e., FRPA and GBRO).
· Experience with PostgreSQL or other spatial database systems.
· Experience developing web mapping applications, dashboards, or mobile GIS solutions.

What We Offer:
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
