Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine flooring layouts and installation procedures
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments or adhesives for optimal flooring adhesion
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and install various flooring materials such as hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl, or carpet
- Measure spaces accurately to ensure precise cuts and proper fitting of flooring materials
- Collaborate with team members on framing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work or restoration tasks related to flooring projects when necessary
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout each project phase
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents during installation activities
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation or related construction fields such as carpentry, masonry, or restoration
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating processes
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and heavy equipment operation when required
- Knowledge of various flooring materials including tile laying techniques and concrete finishing methods
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Experience with plumbing or electrical work is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of safety procedures within construction environments
