We are actively recruiting for a few reliable and friendly Personal Support Workers to assist a Quadriplegic male employer with all his activities of daily living.
This gentleman enjoys being outdoors and going for walks with his dogs.
Experience working with Quadriplegics is required.
Location:
- Victoria, BC (NearTillicum Mall)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- Monday to Sunday: 8:00am to 12:00pm
- Monday to Sunday: 6:00pm to 10:00pm
Compensation:
- $28 per hour for 60 days of training
- $29 per hour for evening shifts after training
- $30 per hour for morning shifts after training
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
Morning
- Daily personal care including, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, pressure ulcer treatment, catheter care, bowel routine (digital stimulation)
- Skin checks to look for skin ulcers and prevent pressure sores
- transfers using a Sara Steady and Platform Walker
- ROM exercises
- Meal prep and assistance with feeding
- Light housekeeping including sanitizing equipment
- Medication Administration
Evening
- Daily Personal care including grooming, oral care , ulcer care, catheter care, undressing/dressing
- ROM exercises and light massage
- Medication Administration
- Skin checks to look for skin ulcers and prevent pressure sores
- Light housekeeping such as laundry and organizing care environment
Required Qualifications:
- Class 5 Driver's license preferred
- Experience working in a care worker capacity with Quadriplegic or other physically disabled clients preferred
- Physically fit and able to assist bend and kneel or maneuver the weight of an adult client
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain) preferred
- comfortable working in an environment with friendly medium to large dogs
