Overview
We are seeking a skilled Suspended Ceiling Installer to join our construction team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining suspended ceilings in commercial and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, and related trades, with a keen eye for detail and safety. Experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and various finishing techniques is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to high-quality interior finishes and space transformations.
Duties
- Measure and mark ceiling layouts based on blueprints and schematics
- Install suspension systems, including grid frameworks and support structures
- Cut and fit ceiling tiles or panels to specifications using hand tools
- Secure ceiling components with appropriate fasteners, hangers ect.
- Read and interpret schematics and construction drawings to ensure precise installation
- Perform restoration work on existing ceilings, including repairs and modification
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, or flooring installers during project phases
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and ceiling installation
- Construction experience with installing suspended ceiling systems
- Strong carpentry skills for steel framing, cutting, and fitting materials accurately
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively
- Knowledge of caulking, sealing, and finishing techniques for polished results
- Experience with restoration projects involving ceilings or interior surfaces
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse project settings
- Attention to detail, safety awareness, and good communication skills
