Job Overview
We are seeking a Greenhouse Worker to join our team. This role involves maintaining and caring for leafy green vegetables in a greenhouse environment, ensuring optimal growing conditions, identifying signs of pest damage, and supporting daily greenhouse operations.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and enjoys working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in plant care, irrigation systems, and greenhouse operations.
Responsibilities
- General greenhouse operations, including plant care, propagation, watering, fertilization, and pruning
- Lift and move plants, soil, trays, and other supplies (up to 50 lbs) as required
- Monitor plant health and identify and report signs of pests, diseases, or other crop issues
- Monitor and manage climate control systems (temperature, humidity, ventilation, and irrigation)
- Operate hand tools and mechanical equipment to support greenhouse maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of greenhouse environment
- Communicate effectively with ownership and team members regarding production needs and timelines
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plant care
- Experience with drip irrigation system and hydroponics preferred but not required
- Experience growing leafy green vegetables preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and greenhouse equipment preferred but not required
- Experience using Argus control system preferred but not required
