Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ foot and ankle health, utilizing medical terminology to document findings accurately
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for various conditions such as injuries, deformities, infections, and chronic pain management
- Perform procedures including wound care, nail surgeries, orthotic fittings, and medication administration as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using electronic health record systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Educate patients on foot health maintenance, injury prevention, and appropriate footwear choices to promote long-term well-being
- Collect data for research purposes or quality improvement initiatives to enhance treatment protocols
- Manage patient care in diverse settings including hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and home care environments
Experience
- Proven experience working in hospital settings with exposure to acute care environments
- Hands-on experience in pain management techniques specific to podiatric conditions
- Background in pediatric foot care or working with pediatric populations is highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and communication
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred
- Knowledge of research methodologies related to podiatry or foot health is a plus
- Previous home care experience demonstrating adaptability and patient-centered approach
